This morning at 7:30am PDT we experienced a failure on one of our web servers. Clients should not have experienced any pain resulting in this failure, since our web servers are located behind a Load Balancer. Upon further investigation we did find that the Load Balancer had an extremely high threshold set for switching traffic around, this inconsistently resulted in only some Clients getting a 503 server error. We have tested, monitored and mitigated future issues by lowering the threshold to a best practice standard setting. If a web server has a failure, your connection threshold will quickly adjust to another web server.
